The Glacier National Park infrastructure developed by the National Park Service is an amazing feat, but naturally has its limitations. In 2021 Glacier National Park introduced a reservation system for their Summer season. Since then, they have continued to implement and expand this system each Summer.

What’s different in 2023
Due to continued congestion in all parts of Glacier National Park, the National Park Service has decided to expand their Summer reservation system to most areas of the park. A vehicle reservation is now required to access the Going-to-the-Sun Road Corridor and North Fork, Many Glacier, and Two Medicine Vehicle Reservation Areas.
As in the past years, these reservations are required during peak times of the day, so you can enter these areas prior to and after the reservation windows. If you enter an area prior to the start of the reservation window, you can stay in that area, but once you leave you cannot re-enter without a reservation.
Going-to-the-Sun Road Vehicle Reservations
The Going-to-the-Sun road spans from the West entrance to the St. Mary (East) entrance. These reservations are good for 3 days per vehicle.
West entrance reservations required from May 26 through September 10, 2023, from 6 am to 3 pm.
St. Mary entrance reservations required from July 1 through September 10, 2023, from 6 am to 3 pm.
North Fork Vehicle Reservations
The North Fork Area is in the northwest corner of the park and includes all points east of the Polebridge Entrance Station. This reservation is good for 1 day per vehicle.
North Fork area reservations required from May 26 through September 10, 2023, from 6 am to 3 pm.
Many Glacier Vehicle Reservations
The Many Glacier area includes all points beyond the Many Glacier Entrance Station.
Many Glacier area reservations required from July 1 through September 10, 2023, from 6 am to 3 pm.
Two Medicine Vehicle Reservations
The Two Medicine area includes all points beyond the Two Medicine Entrance Station.

Conclusion
Now that all of the major roads in Glacier National Park require Summer reservations, it’s more important than ever to get one. Glacier National Park is stunning in every other season and can be visited reservation free!
